How we source, review and correct

Everything we publish is drawn from primary or news-verified sources: manufacturer and provider websites, Health Canada approvals and product monographs, public drug-plan formularies and coverage criteria, and reputable news reporting on list prices. We prefer official sources over aggregators, and we date what we publish so you can judge how current it is.

We do not present compounded or grey-market GLP-1 products as options. Compounded GLP-1s are not a legal route in Canada, and cross-border purchasing is outside our scope. Our coverage is Canada-only.

NorthDose publishes educational information, not medical advice. We describe medications at the label level — what a drug is, its molecule, its approved indication in Canada, and its dosing frequency — and we deliberately avoid dose-escalation guidance or anything that reads like a personal treatment recommendation.

Where a page has been checked by a medical reviewer, we show that reviewer's name as a byline on the page, linking to our editorial and medical review team. Where no byline appears, the page has not been individually medically reviewed and should be read strictly as general education. In all cases, the right next step is a conversation with a licensed physician.

Prices on NorthDose are gathered from published provider pricing, direct pharmacy inquiries, and news-verified manufacturer list prices. Every price row records the source, what the price includes, and the month it was last verified. Our current data was last verified in July 2026.

Ranges are deliberate. A single GLP-1 can cost different amounts depending on dose, dispensing fee, pharmacy and province, so we show a low-to-high range rather than a false single number. For manufacturer savings programs, we show the eligible-patient price and note that eligibility varies — those figures are not guaranteed to everyone.

GLP-1 pricing changes quickly, especially as generics launch through 2026. We treat our price database as a living document and re-verify it regularly, but you should always confirm the current cost with the pharmacy or provider before relying on it.

If we get something wrong — a price, a coverage detail, an approval date — we want to fix it quickly and transparently. When a correction materially changes what a page says, we update the page and, where relevant, note that it was corrected.

Spotted an error or an out-of-date price? Tell us. Reader reports are one of the most valuable ways we keep the database honest, and we'd rather hear about a mistake than have it sit there.
